Anne says "Angela Smith had asked me if I would be willing to help the theatre company move all their props and sets from Woodrush High school Wythall to the fantastic new venue, The Palace Theatre Redditch."

"I helped backstage for many years, always stating VERY clearly… Oh you’ll never see me act on stage!… So my involvement on the first few productions was to sell the tickets."

Anne was last seen in May 2006 playing the part of Audrey in Blue Remembered Hills and has recently directed the critically acclaimed 2007 production of 'The Dresser'. Anne demonstrated more of her brilliant comic timing as Mitzi in our fantastic production of 'A Murder is Announced' (November 2007).
Anne's performance as Truvy in Steel Magnolias (2009) received critical acclaim:
"Anne Cherry as the Salon’s warm owner, Truvy, moved about the expertly designed and constructed set (John Nolan) with an ease of ownership that made you immediately feel at home and part of the action. She also deserves special recognition for delivering lines whilst producing a gorgeous hair style!"
Anne's most recent performance for the Company was as the rather confused Benita in 'Time of My Life' (2009).
(Anne was the Company's Chairperson from 2000 to 2002 and provided much support to the Company during those years). |
