Profile: Gerry Soloman was a valued member of the society, being a strong actor and dedicated director within the Society.
Gerry joined the society in 1965 for the production of 'A Shop at Sly Corner'. After that he appeared in many numerous parts in diverse productions from Blithe Spirit to Sailor Beware. In 1966 he played a part in the society's 'The Corn is Green' and local reviewer wrote:
"Morgan Evans, the young miner in whom Miss Moffatt detects the makings of a great man, is capably played by Gerry Soloman, once more proving his versatility. His progress from uncouth lout to well-read and sensitive student was well drawn."
His profile of shows is very impressive but does not do Gerry justice for all his hard work and commitment towards the society. If Gerry was not actually appearing in a show you can garantee that he would be working hard back-stage.
