Joy Rodgers
Joy joined Wythall Theatre Company in 1986 from Match Theatre (the resident amateur company based at the Midlands Arts Centre).
She has performed regularly for the Company with performances of Burlington Bertie in the Music Hall and as the Princess Agrabina in Wythall’s only pantomime.
Joy has also costumed many of our productions and has worked tirelessly backstage she has also successfully directed Man of the Moment (2001).
Joy has had many roles in recent productions including: Lilly Belle Savage in The Curious Savage, Roma Smethurst in Party Piece, Dr Julie Campbell in Blood Money, Suzanne in Don’t Dress for Dinner, the haunting Vi in Memory of Water and Lady Holbrook in Shut Your Eyes and Think of England.
Joy’s most recent roles include was as fun loving Mildred in the 2006 production of Cemetery Club and the disapproving Lady Julia in the production of Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime. The success of this show had a great deal to do with the hard work Joy put into providing fantastic period costumes for all the cast.
Joy gave a fantastic portrayal was of ‘Her Ladyship’ in the 2007 production of ‘The Dresser’. We are very proud to say that Joy also directed our fantastic production of ‘Journey’s End’ in 2008.
Joy’s most recent performances include the manipulative Laura Stratton in ‘Time of Your Life’ (2009).
