Paul Hughes
Since 1995 Paul has had various roles for Wythall as well as producing a great deal of publicity for the company as well as directing for Wythall.
One of the parts he is most remembered for was as Neville in Neville’s Island (2004). He has also played Norman Bassett in Cash on Delivery, Geoffrey Curtis in Deadly Nightcap and Alister Spenlow in Move Over Mrs Markham. Paul has had many other roles and successfully directed the hilarious Don’t Dress for Dinner and Shut Your Eyes and Think of England.
Paul has also appeared at the Palace Theatre many times in various roles including: Dr Bessner in Death on the Nile, Phil Hopley in Up ‘n’ Under and King Rumbold in Sleeping Beauty. However, Paul’s favourite role to date was Toad in The Wind in the Willows.
When not treading the boards Paul can be found working as the Press and Publicity Officer at the Palace Theatre.
Paul’s more recent appearances, for Wythall Theatre Company, were as Willie in Blue Remembered Hills (2006) and the loyal butler Baines in Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime (2006). Nevertheless, Paul’s portrayal as the ‘Ass/Donkey’ in ‘The Flint Street Nativity’ (Nov 2010) will be one we will remember for a long time (especially the box on his head!).
Paul also directed the brilliant 2009 production of ‘Time of My Life’.
