Stanley Girling

Stanley joined the Society in 1965 and appeared in several performances during the 60’s. When he was not on stage he was busy back stage on productions.

In 1968 he played the part of Henry in Six of the Best and was given this wonderful review in a local paper:

“I have to make special mention of Stanley Girling’s Henry Lush, the safe-blower of the sextet. Without having a lot to say, he constantly caught my eye by sheer acting ability. He was easily the best of the group.”

Stanley also directed several plays for the Society including Tabitha in 1968 and The Letter to the General in 1967.

A review wrote of Stanley’s production of The Corn is Green’ in 1966:

“… his production of the play itself was excellent.”

The photograph featured shows Stanley in “When We are Married”, 1967.

We are sad to report that Stanley passed away in August 2008.
