Maurice Simpson
Maurice joined the group in 1961 and appeared in some of the early productions such as ‘The Trial of St Joan’. He also appeared in the 1962 production ‘Simon and Laura’ and stayed for several of the 1960’s productions. His part of Simon is commented in the following 1963 newspaper review:
“Maurice Simpson and Peggy Foster as the relentless argumentative Simon and Laura got off to a splendidly bad-tempered start, but as the play went on their zest for anger waned somewhat. A demanding duo given sound attenton by the two performers.”
The picture shown has Peggy Foster and Maurice Simpson performing in Simon and Laura.
