Theatre's Winner

The Palace theatre has announced the list of award winners for the Redditch one act play festival.

Amateur actors from Redditch, Studley, and Wythall, took part in the festival and awards were presented the following companies:

The major award fro the best overall production went the Wythall dramatic society for "Edward" written by Michael Bond and directed by Michael Beamish. They received the BKL Alloys trophy and a cheque for £75 from the Redditch arts council.

A joint award for the best play with a mixed cast was presented to Redditch amateur theatre society and the Crowle players. Thery were presented with the Evening Mail trophy.

The Redditch actors presented "Rosencratz and Guildenster are Dead" written by Tom Stoppard and directed by Philip Roberts.

A further award went to Wythall Dramatic Society for their production of "Edward." They recieved the Allen Cross community association trophy for the best play with an all female cast.

The Friends of the Palace trophy was won by the Bishampton Barnstormers. This trophy was awarded by the audience at the Palace Theatre for the most entertaining production.....
