Playwright Alan Bennett's Cynical observations about life - particularly sex-hit a peak in laughter making as his "Wickstead family" and friends bare their souls in profound detail.
Performers face rich pickings in portraying a host of heady characters, including a lecherous doctor and his hypochondriac son,a relative obsessed with developing a bust, a Peeping Tom vicar and a pregnant teenager.
It is to the advantage of the audience's funny bone that all the cast seize their opportunities with relish.
Val Archer creates an artful cleaner who sets the scenes. The play ends tonight.
