Dave Wilkins
Dave has been a very active member of the WTC and has contributed in many ways. Dave has been a WTC chairman in the past and steered the society into new and exciting directions.
Dave has always been interested in theatrical activities and before joining WTC used his acting, directing, designing and lighting skills in various Birmingham Schools where he taught. He also built up a wealth of experience during his time with a Studio Theatre Company which he set up with Roger Warren.
His directorial credits include: Oliver, Smike, Toad of Toad Hall, Bedroom Farce, The Dumb Waiter and Absent Friends.
Dave has acted for the society on numerous occasions and we all know that he is a real stickler for detail! When he joined WTC he played multiple roles in the Olde Tyme Music Hall and followed this with the roles of Arthur Wicksteed, the lecherous GP in Habeas Corpus and the leather-clad Baron Toerot in Dennis and the Donkey.
Dave co-directed Steel Magnolias and then directed Rose and a studio production of the Dumb Waiter. His successful directing of ‘Straight and Narrow’ was mentioned in the adjudication report of the show – a report we are very proud of.
Dave was the Chairperson of the society (1993 to 1995) and provided support for all members through this role.
Dave is currently a Wythall Angel and supports our events and productions as a sponsor of the Company.
