CURTAIN UP TONIGHT!
Rehearsals are complete. Lines are learned, moves are practised and all is ready for curtain up tonight. But although the cast is prepared, members of Wythall Dramatic Society, due to present Peter Blackmore’s three-act comedy “The Blue Goose” in Woodrush Secondary School, have had an anxious time as the producer (Edward Pedvin) was taken ill and Jim Munden stepped into his place as producer while the small part of his was taken over by Joe Gill. And to crown this, one of the members, Michael Van Byelett, had to drop out last week and the part was re-written so that Celia Grant could play it.

Illness strikes!
Because of illness, Wythall Dramatic Society has had to make several changes in the cast of Peter Blackmore’s comedy, “The Blue Goose,” at Woodrush County Secondary School tonight and tomorrow.

‘Blue Goose is well done’
That most pleasant of sounds – the ripple of chuckles – echoed through the Woodrush schools during the production of “The Blue Goose” by Wythall Dramatic School. The play deals with the family of a borough treasurer whose wife is “operatic” in the true Pamela Russell tradition – only she’s serious about it.
As Mrs Portal, the mother, Estelle Shutkever played with magnificent élan. But she could not have the carried the play without good support, notably from Margaret Foster, and Anna and John Clarke.
