Ted Pedvin
Ted Pedvin was one of the founder members of the society back in 1958. Ted Pedvin was a valued member of the society, being a strong actor and dedicated director within the Society. His profile below is very impressive but does not do Ted justice for all his hard work and commitment towards the society.
The image featured shows Ted wearing his costume for the production of ‘Old Time Musical’.
Ted was the Chairperson of the society (1987 to 1989) and provided support for all members through this role.
Ted’s daughter Rosemary Gibson (Nee Pedvin) remembers that Ted was “legendary in the family” for his involvement in the dramatics world. As a teenager she remembers him always being at rehearsals and she and a friend sold programmes for the very first production at Woodrush School in 1958. She says that they had to wear usherette outfits but does point out that they were only twelve at the time!
Rosemary remembers that “Wythall was much more of a village community in those days and all the audiences were local… Dad was also involved in many areas in Wythall/Hollywood i.e. Chairman of Parish Council, Council President of the Tennis Club, Lay preacher at St Mary’s and the Unitarian Church (in Packhorse Lane), Sunday School teacher and much more.”
(We thank Rosemary for her contribution to her father’s profile).
