Peter Round
Peter came to the society from Match Theatre Company where he played the Master of the Rolls in ‘Dennis and the Donkey’ and Velcro in ‘Hugo and the Gloogo’.
He has done much backstage and technical work including ‘Two into One’ and Suddenly at Home’ for Wythall. Peter has given a great deal to the Company and his efforts are fully appreciated.
Peter has also been a fine director and stage manager for the company. He first directed the Company’s production of ‘Party Piece’ in 2002. Peter also directed the wonderful ‘Cemetery Club’ (March 2006). Peter showed great sensitivity in his direction and we are sure the play will be remembered as one of our great successes.
He made his stage début as Walter Pangbourne in ‘Move Over Mrs Markham’ and was also seen as the suspicious husband in the production of ‘Don’t Dress for Dinner’. One of his most memorable stage performance was in ‘Shut Your Eyes and Think of England’ as Dr Cornish.
Nevertheless, Peter was real triumph as Herr Winkelkopf in ‘Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime’ (2006). He showed a great sense of comic timing as the bungling German anarchist.
Peter’s more recent performances include: the Company Sergeant Major in ‘Journey’s End’. Peter also directed the 2008 production of ‘Run For Your Wife.
Peter was the Company’s Chairman from March 2011 to March 2013.
