Mike Beamish
Mike is a very versatile actor and is equally at home with both comic and serious roles. He has appeared in such diverse parts as Bob in Pack of Lies, Stefan in Bitter Sanctuary, Humphrey and Lofty in Alfie and Gilbert Bodley, the suave womanising furrier in Not Now Darling.
Mike has taken up the directorial challenge for Wythall on many occasions and has produced such wonderful productions as Deep Blue Sea, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, 84, Charing Cross Road and nail-biting thrillers such as Death Trap. Just to make sure his company role complete he has had the difficult role of stage managing shows such as The Haunted Through Lounge and Recessed Dining Nook at Farndale Caste and A Chorus of Disapproval.
Mike’s most recent roles were as womanising Sam in the 2006 production of Cemetery Club, The Colonel in the 2008 production of ‘Journey’s End’, a Sergeant in ‘Run for Your Wife’ (2008) and Gerry Stratton in ‘Time of Your Life’ (2009).
Mike was the Chairperson of the society (1997 to 2000 and 2002 to 2005) and provided support for all members through this role.
